Seven Sisters Market hosts runway show for top designer, Martine Rose
Earlier this week, Seven Sisters Market was the unlikely venue for a runway show for top menswear designer, Martine Rose. The fashion press left the more familiar territory of Zone 1 to braved the unchartered waters of Tottenham and watched and watched the show from mismatched seats place along the aisles of the market whilst enjoying snacks handed out by the traders.
The models' tailoring, based on different male characters - a bus driver, a banker, an estate agent and office workers was in sharp contrast to the backdrop of the market.
Martine explains why the market was her choice of venue: "I've been in Tottenham for ten years, so it was time to do something here - I wanted people to come to the market to see how amazing it is", she said. "But I enjoy when things are slightly off - so I wanted to have this weird show inside it."
